Broadview Magazine

St. James’ group subscription to Broadview Magazine is about to expire. The group rate is $25 per year- considerably better than an individual rate. If you wish to remain a subscriber drop a cheque in the church’s mailbox or make and e-transfer to St. James United Church and indicate that it is for a Broadview subscription. The deadline is March 3. For those of you who would like to become new subscribers call Margaret at 306-543-2626 or Email In 2022 Broadview was named the best special interest magazine in Canada for the second year in a row. The articles are timely and cover issues of spirituality, justice and ethical living.

Book Club
On Monday January 10 the 1:30-3:00 pm book group will start discussing the book How to Heal our Divides: A Practical Guide edited by Brian Allain and Adam Thomas. (available at Amazon and Kindle). The book outlines why there are divides and gives examples of how to resolve  them. There are over 30 contributors to the book. The group meets weekly with the understanding  people will not be available every week . A set number of chapters are discussed each week. For January 17, please read  chapters 1, 5, 13 and 11 for January 24 please read chapters 2, 10, 17, and 19.   Presently we meet on ZOOM at the following link:

Facebook Live Stream Volunteers Needed

We are currently looking for a few volunteers to help us with running the Sunday Service live stream on Facebook. Time spent at the church for the set up and take down of the equipment would be from 9 am to 11 am.  Full training and support provided, no previous experience or Facebook account needed. Regina Native Outreach Ministry - Request for Donations for New Mom Welcome Packages
Regina Native Outreach Ministry (RNOM) invites you to participate in their New Indigenous Moms Welcome Packages initiative!
The goal is to provide a few items to help new Indigenous moms care for their babies and themselves in the early days after the baby is born.  RNOM will assemble the packages and Rev. Deb Anderson-Pratt (306-519-7840) will deliver them.   
To support this project, RNOM is looking for donations of the following items :
  • Reusable cloth bags (for holding the items and for use later)
  • Homemade cards that can be used for congratulating the new Mom on the arrival of her new baby
  • Knit or crocheted items for baby
  • Baby blankets or quilts
  • Unisex baby sleepers
  • Unisex baby undershirts
  • Newborn diapers
  • Baby soap
  • Baby shampoo
  • Baby wipes
  • Nursing pads
  • Sanitary supplies
  • Small gift for Mom such as a candle, hand lotion, lip balm, etc.
